First of all I am sooo pleased with my Secret Santa gift. It is so thoughtful and personal. I received my box 2 weeks before Christmas. I unfortunately missed the postman delivering this to my door so I had to wait a few days before I could go pick up the parcel from the delivery office. I skipped all the way home from the delivery office wondering who had sent me this box.

iPhone camera lenses review

My dad bought these lenses for his iPhone and I thought I would borrow them and see what they did. My dad thought he had bought 2 lenses, but with my super beadie eye and close inspection he had actually bought 3 lenses. The 3 lenses he bought are a wide angled lens, a fish eye lens and a macro lens. All for the cheap price of £5 something from Amazon I think. He can't remember where he got them other than "off the Internet"

Bath and Body Works haul - Finally

I have finally got round to taking photos of all the wonderful items my dad bought for me from Bath and Body Works from his recent trip to America. He went to the mall to have a look around and he kindly went into Bath and Body Works for me with a small shopping list.

Candles - I saw these candles on Carrie Brighton's Instagram and immediately, put them on my list for my dad.

IPad and Iphone accessories

I took a trip to the Apple store the other day, well actually I got lost in Covent Garden and went into the Apple Store when trying to find TK Maxx. I discovered that you can get all sorts of accessories for the iPhone and iPad. Check these out.

iPad keyboard -  this is the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard that you just slot your iPad into and can use it like a laptop. Once you are finished you then attach it like a cover and close it. Only for £69.95 for the iPad Mini and £89.95 for the iPad. This is not cheap.

Beauty advent calendar update

So far in my Boots advent calendar I have uncovered lots of little beauty gems. Starting with

Day 1 Soap and Glory body wash, which smells so lovely. It smells like most Soap and Glory products, I'm not very good at describing smells, but this smells great. Also it's a great size to take on holiday or for weekends away.

Day 2 Balmi, a bloggers favourite, lipbalm. I have read quite a bit on this product and have only heard good things so I was really pleased this was in day 2. I have waited weeks to get myself an EOS balmi and my dad went to America and picked me up 2 of them, pomegranate and mint, talk about all your buses coming at once. I have yet to open this as I was really excited to open the ones my dad bought me. They are great so I am sure this one will be too. I did notice on other bloggers Instagrames they had the same advent calendar as me but Boots had changed the flavours of these, which I thought was really cool.

Day 3 - nail polish time! I love a good red nail so I was really pleased to see this although Mavala London are not a brand I've heard of, I really love the colour of this polish. It really needs a top coat as after 2 days it started to chip on me. Definitely a great colour for the Christmas season.

Day 4 - Nina perfume sample, this smells wonderful, but as I said above I am not that great at describing what things smell like. It's definitely a girly smell. Although I was a little disappointed that this was a perfume sample and not a small bottle. I am pleased that I could smell this and test it out as it's really nice. Although it did take a few tries at getting it out and eventually with the help of a screwdriver I was able to smell this, but I had squirted half of it on the plastic tray it was sat it.

Winning a Prize

A few weeks back, maybe even a month or two, I entered a competition on Confetti Letters blog to win a £10 gift voucher for Topshop and £10 for Boots. I don't usually enter that many blog give a ways or competitions, but I entered this one as Louise's little blog is a delight. The give away was in celebration of her blogs 2nd birthday.

Trip to Kingston with my Parents

Last weekend my parents came to stay and we went to Kingston for the weekend. Here are a few photos from that weekend.

Sunday, 15 December 2013

So as you know from my previous post that I was going to the #LDNXMASMEET today. I had been looking forward to going to this event all week. I had heard great things about Ellie's Blogger meet ups and she did not disappoint. The event was scheduled for 2pm in a little Italian restaurant in Soho. As I work in the area I knew exactly where this restaurant was and how long it would take me to arrive there. I found the restaurant and the waiter came outside and said you're friends are upstairs and pointed towards the staircase.

I proceeded up the stairs and was greeted by lots of lovely smiley faces. The event was organised by Ellie, Chloe and Perdi and was well advertised on Twitter. They had laid out lots of goodie bags posters placed around the room. I was told to take a seat and did just that. On my table was Kimberly, Becky, Kohl Beauty and Caroline. There were 4 different tables in total. As we were on different tables, we didn't really get to chat to the other bloggers, but we did say our names and our blogs.

Unfortunately I did not take as many photos as I would have liked, but we spent most of the time chatting, eating and tweeting.

The lovely goodie bags that Ellie, Chloe and Perdi had organised.

Saturday, 14 December 2013

A few weeks back on Twitter I saw the #LDNXMASMEET I know that Ellie is an organiser of London Meetups for Bloggers and she had one in the summer, which I missed as I had to work, so my eyes were peeled for this one. Soon as I saw there were spaces available I replied and signed myself up.

Christmas Jumper Day!

December the 13th is officially Christmas jumper day in the UK, where people go to work dressed in a silly Christmas jumper and raise money for the Save the Children charity.

I bought my Christmas jumper back in September as I knew that last year I missed the boat in Primark.
Here is my Christmas jumper.

Today is my birthday!

I woke up to several birthday cards and a few gifts that I had resisted opening until today. It was well worth waiting to open them though.
I received a fancy new Michael Kors Watch from my parents (Thanks Dad and Mum).

Buying a Camera Lens

I bought my Canon 550D on holiday in Fuerteventura and have been using the lens that came with it for nearly a year. I discovered some of my friends in work have similar Canon cameras and you can inter change the lenses between models, which is great! One friend lent me a pancake lens and the other a Prime lens.

I want to purchase a lens for my camera and I cannot decide which one to get, I am swaying more towards The Pancake Lens.

Secret Santa Gifts

Are you involved in a Secret Santa? It's only 3 weeks away from Christmas and the Secret Santa selections are being made already. I have become involved in a blogger Secret Santa set up by Jess from Dungarees and Donuts I have bought, wrapped and posted my gifts to my secret Santa choice.

This is the first time I have done anything like this and wanted to share with you my experience of the whole thing.

Firstly, to sign up via twitter was exciting as I had already been told that the original secret Santa I wanted to become involved with was full and I wasn't able to join, but I was pointed in Jess's direction and I was quickly signed up. I had to send a quick email to Jess saying my budget, things I like and things I don't like. Once enough bloggers had signed up, this like the previous one, it was closed.  Jess worked out our matches' depending on what prices we wanted to spend and we were sent an email with our matches.

Horse Riding

I went horse riding with my friend last saturday and again I had a wonderful time. This time I was much more comfortable on the horse as I wasn't too worried about falling off it. Although it was a little colder than last time I went and I got that lovely sun burn on my neck.

Friday, 6 December 2013

Having discovered the world of blogging and YouTube at full force last January, I was excited to discover the wonderful world of Christmas bedding. This year I was on the look out for a really cool looking Christmassy bedding and Primark have not let me down.

I changed my duvet covers on Tuesday morning so my flat is very Christmassy now with my tree up, my little elves on ski's and my Christmas heart up.

My Boots Advent Calendar

First of all I would like to say that this advent calendar is amazing! It offers variety and surprise. Much better than a chocolate advent calendar as you know you are going to get a piece of chocolate every day. Whereas, with this advent calendar I know I am getting a beauty item, but I don't know which one (unless I go onto Instagram before I open the door).

What happened to my blogging?

Yep! I am asking myself the same question. I started off October well with regular blog posts, then we hopped over into November and that disappeared right before my eyes and now I am sat here and it is December. I had thought about writing a post a day for December, but as you can see that has failed miserably as I haven't posted anything yet. However, I have decided to do a photo a day of my December events and post them to Instagram. I have started a photo a day for my advent calendar gifts. Then another photo a day for the rest of December using JustBlogSteph idea, where you have to post a photo following her list.

Hunter wellies are back in TKMaxx!!!!

Ever since seeing Hunter wellies in TKMaxx last year I had dreamt that they would bring them back and I could purchase them. This autumn, well I'd call it winter now seen as it's freezing cold outside, TKMaxx has brought them back. I hear all bbloggers or any hunter fans let out a squeal.

I was so pleased to see shelves and shelves of these wellies.

Afternoon Tea - is it your cup of tea?

Back in 2010 I went for Afternoon Tea at Palm Court at Park Lane Hotel, not too sure it was called this when I went, for my friend's engagement party.  I had a really nice time there, with fancy sandwiches and a really cool pot of tea.

These are my photos below (the quality of the photos isn't that great as it wasn't a well lit room)

I cannot remember the order this came in, it was 3 years ago.

Bblonde by Jerome Russell

A few weeks ago I was contacted by the lovely people at Jerome Russell asking if I would like to test one of their products. I had the choice of hair dye or this lightening spray. I forgot about this hair lightening spray arriving and it was hanging out in the despatch department in work for a while, but now I have it and I am ready to test it.

The lightening spray came in this box, which was well packaged and full of information of how to apply and how the product works.

Installing the Instagram Widget

Again I have added a new widget to my blog and like I do whenever I get something new I like to share it with you, my lovely readers.

I added the Instagram widget from Intagme All you have to do is insert your Instagram username and decide on the look of your widget.

Relaxing Afternoon with Lush Products

Last week I popped into Lush after work to see what products had been brought out for Christmas, but as I had been graced with a cold this week I was unable to smell anything in Lush. Now if you're a shopper in Lush then you'll know the shop can be smelt from outside the shop.

Saturday, 9 November 2013

On my way to work yesterday, in a sleepy state, walking towards Leicester Square and I bumped into the Coca Cola Santa truck, parked outside Capital Radio, which is famously on television around christmas.

My week in pictures #8

I haven't completed a week in pictures for a while now and I thought I should start this back up again. However, there may be a lack of photos now that the weather has changed and I am staying in doors a bit more.

Lipstick swatches

Today I took a trip to boots and looked at a few of the lipsticks. I swatched a fair few red ones on my hand and found some really nice ones. The only thing that was putting me off was the price. Do I really want to spend that amount on a lipstick. After my experience with the lipstick I picked up from Pound World I picked up a few weeks ago I would spend that extra amount as the lipstick really wasn't great.

Anyway, on with the purpose of the post. My lipstick swatches.

Lipstick from pound world review

A few weeks ago I bought this lipstick from pound world for £1. I wanted to try it to see what the colour is like with my pale skin and to see if I should invest in a branded lipstick and the answer to that is yes. This lipstick is almost like a lip balm with a pigment. It needs to be applied quite a lot for the colour to come through on the lips and is very glossy.

Are you ready for Halloween

I love pumpkin carving and buying a pumpkin this year was on my to do list. I managed to pick up a really small pumpkin from Lidl for £1 or £2. I can't remember. My lovely little pumpkin has sat in my house all week until yesterday evening when I thought I should get a move on with carving my pumpkin because by the time I get round to carving it, Halloween will be over or the pumpkin would have rotted

Anyway, let's get on with my design.  I learnt last year that when carving a pumpkin it is best practice to choose a design and draw this onto the pumpkin first. This is for not so arty/creative people like me to get the most out of their pumpkin design. I looked through lots of designs on Sunday and went with this cat one, which I found on Google images.

I visited Poundland again...oops!

I took a trip to Poundland today and was pleasantly suprized to find lots of Revlon and Maybeline nail polish for sale. I was really impressed with the range that was available.

Nail Wraps Update

Last week I posted about nail wraps I had picked up from Poundland and applied them on Sunday 13th October and only one fell off, but this was easily fixed by a bit of clear nail varnish and it has stayed on for as long as the others have.

Weekend trip to Greenwich

This weekend we didn't go far at all as my boyfriends parents came down to visit. They stayed in their usual hotel in Blackheath and came to visit us. They came in the car so everything was easily reached. They picked us up and took us out for an amazing Indian, unfortunately I can't remember the name of it but it is right next to the Costa on Blackheath high street.

Our food was amazing, you'll see what I mean below.

A sense of success

WHOO the other day my blog reached 10100 page views. I am amazed that people read it as I read other people's blogs and they are far more interesting than mine, but I really enjoy taking photographs and writing.

Also on the same day I reached 100 followers on Bloglovin, another achievement.

Beauty advent calendars

At Christmas last year my dad bought my iPad for me and I properly started using it in January and haven't put it down since! I take it everywhere with me. In January I properly discovered blogs and blogging. I knew they had been around for a while, but my first discovery was in 2005 at university, with two of my favourite blogs - Petite Anglaise and Save Karyn - which sadly are no longer written, but the content is all there and just as exciting to read. Whilst exploring all the beauty blogs I stumbled across, I can't remember how exactly, I saw the ciate nail polish advent calendar on I Covett Thee. At the time of seeing this I wanted it immediately, but they had all sold out, being after Christmas and all.

Gone are the days where the awful chocolate advent calendars were a must have and beauty advent calendars have replaced them. I bought a chocolate advent calendar for 1p from Sainsbury's one year. Then another year my mum bought a stocking advent calendar and put a new gift in it each day to christmas. I wonder if she still has it?

Friday, 18 October 2013

The other week I thought it would be a good idea to fling my sunglasses into my small handbag without a case. Doing this was far from a good idea and I have destroyed my favourite pair of sunglasses. When they were siting in my handbag without a case they got scratched by my house keys I imagine. I wish I had put them in a smaller case now as my big case is the same size as my small handbag.

I bought them last year or the year before from H & M for £7.99. I thought this was slightly expensive for sunglasses, but I liked the style and design. I am disappointed they are scratched as I can't seem to find any that match their style and size.

Beauty Haul

Recently I have been popping into Poundland looking at their beauty section. I read on twitter or on a beauty blog that they stock branded make up which are end of the line or if they are rebranding. Since finding this out, I have seen Stila, Revlon, Barry M, Maybelline, Collection 2000 and Rimmel.

On one of my many trips I picked up these Revlon nail polishes the first two I bought were 340 Stunning and 610 charismatic. I then purchased 185 Sweet Tart from Brighton Poundland.

nail wraps

A few weeks ago, maybe even a few months ago I popped into Poundland and saw these nail wraps hanging up.

Trip to Borough Market

Yesterday we went on a trip to London's Borough Market near London Brigde. We arrived there around 2pma me the place was packed. I wasn't expecting so many people to be there. In certain places you were shoulder to shoulder with people. I have just placed the photos below and haven't put any commentary by all them, as I simply took lots of photos. There were so many colours from the varied produce. Enjoy!

Revlon 185 Sweet Tart

Whilst in Brighton on Sunday I quickly popped into Poundland to see what they had in their beauty section. I find myself diving into Poundland beauty section and always leaving with a new nail polish. This time I picked up 185 Sweet Tart, I love the play on words with this name.

Midi Rings

I have been eyeing up midi rings for a while now and have seen quite a few people posting pictures wearing them on Instagram and featuring them on their blog. Now it's my turn. I popped into Primark last night to get my boyfriend some trousers and I ended up spending £73 something and in this haul I managed to pick up some midi rings for £1.50. I thought they were relatively cheap and I thought I would give them a whirl and I love them.

Wednesdays OOTD

I have not done an OOTD for a while now and I thought I'd share with you Wednesdays OOTD. I picked this lovely red dress up from Primark for £12. It is corduroy and is lovely. The large pocket on the front is great if you want to keep your phone in there.

A trip to Surbiton and Kingston

On Saturday I took a trip with Kit to Surbiton and Kingston. We took the train from Waterloo to Surbiton.

Blogging help

Now everytime I discover new blogging things to improve my blog I love to share with other bloggers as I found it extremely helpful.
I have discovered how to make a blog button see my post here
How to make a new header in pic monkey
How to copy HTML code

I love sites like the one that I am about to talk about below as they allow me to input my details and create the HTML code for me or in the case of the below image they install the HTML code into my blog.

The below site LinkWithin allows you to place little links at the bottom of each post on your blog to allow your reader to dip into other posts on your blog, it essentially recommends posts for them to read before they click onto another blog. All you have to do is go to LinkWithin and type in your email and your blog link. Then select which platform your blog is on and how many stories you want displayed on your blog.

Libster Award I've been nominated.

I was very kindly nominated for the Liebster Award by the lovely Sophie from Hesterlierre, who has a lovely blog. She nominated me way back in august and this is the first time that I have finally sat down and typed this. I feel bad for it taking so long. The point of this award is to spread the word about great, lesser known blogs!

I have been lucky enough to be nominated for this award twice, see my first post here. The first time I was nominated I was going to place the logo on my side bar, but forgot. Now I have been nominated again I have placed an image of the Liebster Award.

My favourite blogs

I have had this page up for some time now. I wrote it when I first started blogging and discovering bloggers/YouTube in January this year when I finally opened my iPad I had for Christmas from my Dad. Thanks Dad xxx. I feel that although some of these blogs are my favourite blogs and I read them from time to time catching up on their posts since I last visited. I want to reevaluate my favourite blogs list and high light the blog buttons I have on my side bar.

I had toyed with the idea of making a blog button for a while and when I saw Blog Beth had made a blog button. I was straight to her twitter with questions of how did you make that and what site did you use? I attempted to make the button the same way she did but got confused and gave up. I then took to twitter again and was told about this link where you put your blog button image, your page URL and something else, then your blog button is made with no fuss and one click of a button. Thank you people who designed this.

Beauty things I am rubbish at

Beauty Things I Am rubbish at!

I have been tagged by Leah from Painted Daises to complete this tag. I haven't been tagged in anything recently.

What beauty things are you rubbish at? I nominate
Blog Beth from Bethany Worrall
Megan from Little Miss Average
Carrie from Carrie Brighton

And just this week I have been tagged in 2 posts this one and a lipstick post. Thank you Leah for tagging me and hopefully I am not too boring with my answers and I got this right.

Let's begin!

Another weekend adventure - destination Camden Town

Sunday was filled with more photos and food. I chose to go to Camden as I knew it had lots of food stalls and a variety of food. I know that if I get Kit fed and watered he'll come along. No food and he will get grumpy. I also knew Camden was an interesting place to photograph.

Beginning the journey at Camden tube station, I don't normally take the tube but we took it there and walked back to Charing Cross from Camden at the end of the day, it took about an hour to do this, but I was stopping and taking pictures on the way back. There were trainers thrown over the telephone wires, but I am not sure what for but it did look pretty maybe it's just art. As you can see the streets were packed with tourists hopping in and out of the shops on the high street. I didn't go into any of the shops and headed straight for Camden Lock. In my head this is where I wanted to take my photos.

At trip to the Southbank at the weekend

I took a trip to the Southbank this weekend, on Saturday infact. The reason for my visit was to take as many photos as I could with my friends prime lense and below are the results. I had to get used to using the lens at first as it has no zoom and you need to step about 1 metre away from the subject you want to photograph. This is great for open spaces but not when there are crowds of people wandering past the object you want to photograph. I had to stand around for quite a bit to wait for the crowds to clear and get the shot I wanted, but as you can see in the results below it was worth it. After using this lens I am trying to work out which lens to buy.

Autumn colours and tourists, autumn is definitely on the way as the leaves have fallen off the trees and the plants are changing colours.

Lipstick tag

I have been tagged! This is the first tag I have done if you don't count the Libster award, I really need to get back to the lovely lady who nominated me. I forgot all about that a post will be up soon. Anyway, on with the task at hand lipsticks!

1. How many lipsticks do you own?
I only own about 2 lipsticks off the top of my head, but I never wear any of them. One brown one with green spots from my mums Elizabeth Duke box. I used to love wearing the pearl lip stick in this box. And I also have a brown/shimmer one from Avon. I really want a bright red one, but I'm not too sure how this will look with my pail skin.

Another carboot sale visit

It's carboot sale time again. Last Sunday I was picked up, by brother, at 7.45 am and we arrived around 8:15am/8:30am. This was the field when we arrived. Lots of people had dragged themselves out of bed to walk around the field in search of bargains.

BiBimBap Soho

A few weeks back my boyfriend took me to BiBimBap Soho for lunch. I arrived at 1pm and wanted to order food but the waitress would not let me have a table with out Kit being there. So I had to wait five minutes before he turned up and we could order/sit down. On our lunch break time is of the essence as you only have an hour which is really 50 minutes as you have to get to the restaurant and back in time. We ordered our drinks and was ready at this point to order our meal but the waitress said she would come and get our order in five minutes. That I find really annoying as my food needed to be cooking five minutes ago to be eaten/enjoyed.

Anyway, I would like to say that after the small hiccup at the start I had a lovely time here and the food is amazing.

iMovie on the iPad

I was watching a Primark haul on YouTube the other day and the person who I was watching said that they had used iMovie on iPad. I was wondering if it is worth downloading the iMovie app for my iPad and editing videos on there or I should just stick with iMovie on my MacBook. I thought about downloading it as I like to do things on my iPad when I am travelling to and from work and on my lunch breaks when it's raining. I like filming Primark hauls but editing them and recording the v/o is time consuming. I have to fire up my MacBook if I want to use iMovie and edit with it as well as uploading my rushes. Whereas if I film on my iPhone my rushes are backed up to my photo stream and are instantly accessible with any devise my photos stream is linked too.

Revlon charismatic and stunning

I took a trip to my local Poundland this afternoon and as I haven't been shopping in about 3 weeks all the shops had autumn winter stock. Poundland looked like it had just had a delivery of make up so I rummaged through the prongs and found these 2 nail polishes by Revlon. I am wondering why there is so much Revlon in Poundland at the moment, are they rebranding?

Moroccan oil conditioner review

A few weeks back I took a trip to pound world and bought myself some argon oil conditioner. At the time of purchase I had never used Moroccan oil before and was excited to use it. I took a trip to the hair dressers and had my hair straightened up to the same length all the way round. During that hair cut the hairdresser washed my hair and then applied some Moroccan oil to my hair before drying. Once my hair had been cut and dried I could smell the Moroccan oil and as the smell was quite strong it made me feel a bit queasy.

I put off using the Moroccan hair conditioner I had bought 2 bottles of. Then the other day I thought I would give it a try as I had come to the end of my current conditioner. The smell is the same but not as strong. Before I dry my hair I apply Tresemme heat spray so I think the smell of that masks the argon conditioner smell as it smells like a really cheap hair spray.

Taste of Christmas

Last week I went to a taste of Christmas event at Elcantro in soho on Frith Street. I went along with my friends from work to sample the wine and nibbles.

We were ushered upstairs to the second floor, where the restaurant had decorated the room with cinnamon candles and crackers.
