My 2014 in pictures

As some of you may have guessed I love photography! I thought what better way to show you my year than through the pictures I have taken.

January - went off with a bang. I found some cats, met Daphne from Subgenre of a Dream, went horse riding, broke my camera and ended up in A and E.

Ciaté Advent Calendar

As some of you may know, if you follow me on Instagram, I have discovered a store called Winners. It is Canada's T K Maxx, in fact it is owned by the same company. I picked up this Ciaté Advent Calendar for $40.

Maybelline Nudes Pallet

I have wanted this Maybeline Nudes pallet since I arrived in Canada and on the 12th of December I bought it. 1 as a birthday present to myself (happy birthday to me) and 2 so I could wear it to a party that evening.

Christmas Day in Canada

This year we spent our first Christmas together away from home, in Canada. As we didn't have any parents in charge telling us the schedule of the day we made our own.

My Christmas Wish List

I have decided to take a little break from my Real Techniques Series and share with you my long awaited Christmas Wish List. This post has been in draft form since the beginning of November, but I just didn't get round to finishing it till now. OOOPS! Every other blogger under the sun has shared their's so I want to share mine before Santa comes down the chimney.

Real Techniques Series #4 - Powder Brush for £5.75

Another Real Techniques brush I hear you cry! You can't buy one brush and leave the rest of them in the store, that's just not how it works. This post is all about the Real Techniques Powder Brush, another orange brush in my set.

Real Techniques Series #3 - Stippling Brush for £5.15

After visiting Winners once and Walmart I now owned the Enhance Your Eyes Set and the Core Collection. I went exploring and found some more brushes, as you can see from the picture below.

Real Techniques Series #2 - Core Collection for £12.22

I bought my Core Collection brush set from Walmart for £12.22 as I haven't see any of them available in Winners, trust me I have been to 5 different Winners in the past week. I also visited several Walmart's before I found the Core Collection on sale.

Real Techniques Series #1 - Your Eyes Enhanced Starter Set for £10.31

Whilst wondering around the shops in Montreal last week I discovered cheap Real Techniques brushes in Winners. Winners in Canada, is like T K Maxx in the UK (as I have mentioned before it is from the same company). Winners is slowly becoming my favourite store to shop in for beauty and home ware products.

Entering blogger giveaways

**THIS POST IS NOT TO WIN ANY OF THESE ITEMS IT IS JUST A POST ABOUT GIVEAWAYS**

I have seen giveaways featuring on blogs for a while now and I am undecided in two minds whether they are a good idea or not. On one hand I think they are a great way of getting to know about other lesser known blogs and engaging audiences who would not have heard of that blog otherwise, but on the other hand I think they are a shameless way of gaining more followers for your blog. I guess that they are both when I really think about it one wouldn't be without the other.

Dinner at Dinnette Triple Crown Montreal

Last week we visited the highly reviewed Dinnette Tripple Crown Restaurant in Montreal. Dinnette Triple Crown sells Southern comfort food and has a great atmosphere. Their Mac and Cheese is the best thing on the menu!

Montreal Christmas Parade

On November 22nd Montreal held it's annual Santa parade where people dressed up as snowmen, christmas trees and anything else Christmassy. I was really looking forward to the parade. I charged up my camera and made sure all my memory cards were empty so I could photograph as much as possible.

I thought I would do a different kind of post today and tell you about my experience of my first snow storm in Montreal.

Bath and Body Works Purchases

Bath and Body Works is one of my favourite stores. I love going in there and exploring the store. Every time I have been in there has been a different offer on and always lots of different things in the store.

A year ago my Dad visited America and brought me back the Marshmallow Fireside mini candle. I have never lit it because I simply love the smell too much to do so. I saw this in my local Bath and Body works and picked up a 3 wick one for $25.50. There was an offer on at the time which allowed you to buy 2 three wick candles for $25.50.

Nominated for the Liebster Award

I have had the honour of being nominated for the Liebster Award 3 times over the past two years and I love reading these posts. I especially love answering the questions presented to me by the blogger who nominated me as I feel that other readers discovering my blog can get to know me a little better as well as discovering new blogs along the way.

I have been nominated by the lovely Kayleigh from Very Berry Cosmo

My week/month in pictures 08 December 2014

A month or two back I decided I would create a weekly post called a week of Lorilee's Adventures I wanted to keep this post as a weekly fixture, but I failed after the first week. Here I am trying to pick it up again, but with a bumper addition. Most of these pictures have been posted on my Instagram account.

So my week/month in pictures began with taking blog photos in minus temperatures from my balcony. I wore several layers and kept running back inside my house to get warm. The sun wasn't out for long so I had to move fast.

Ardene Handbag

During Black Friday in Montreal I picked up this pretty bag from the clothing and accessories store Ardene for $7. The store is aimed at teenagers, like Claire's Accessories, however I like some of the items in there.

Parcel Hero/FedEx Review

As you all know I have moved to Montreal, some of you may not know is that I only took a hand luggage suitcase with me. This I found out was not enough belongings when you move to another continent. My parents kindly sent me my suitcase via Parcel Hero and FedEx. They case was 15kg and contained my clothes and shoes.

Audible review

As many of you know that Zoella has just released her first novel - Girl Online. I wanted to buy the book, but as I am in Canada the only way I could get my hands on it was via an audio book.

Trio of EOS lip balms

I have been in Montreal for about a month now and this trio of EOS lip balms were one of the first things I picked up from the drug store. I am already starting to sound like a Canadian. I haven't yet worked out where I will take pictures for my blog because I will soon be 10 foot deep in snow and this grass will not be visible for months.

Anyway, the trio of EOS lip balms I picked up are so dreamy. They smell fresh and fruity, the scents remind me of summer.

Climbing Mont royal - Montreal

It's a long way to the top! climbing Mount Royal at the start of the winter, in all my winter attire, was exhausting. I skipped up it in the summer. I walked from downtown Montreal to the top, with lots of photo breaks in between.

Montreal - Jardins de Lumière

I made it to the Montreal - Jardins de Lumière! I attended the very last day and it was well worth the trip. The Jardins de Lumière  was held in the Montreal Botanical Gardens. The lanterns were spectacular, they definitely took my breath away.

The Zoella Advert

4 weeks ago I uploaded this picture of Zoella's YouTube advert, which was being shown with 3 other adverts at London Bridge Station. I was shocked at the amount of likes it received, as to me it is just an advert. But to others it is more than an advert and what it represents.

Hello Montréal

This week I swapped my Oyster card for a pair of snow boots and a big coat. I now live in Canada. It sounds so strange to say and to actually be here. The view from our new apartment.

A week of Lorilee's Adventures

I was thinking about making this a regular feature as I love to take pictures and I seem to have done quite a bit this week.

My week began in style with a pub crawl at the weekend with my colleagues. We wore silly hats and crawled from pub to pub. Stowielee, my brother from another mother.

London Bridge Station - What a shambles!

I wanted to share with you my old commute to work via London Bridge. Over the next 4 years London Bridge, railway station, is getting a make over. It's almost like it is having open heart surgery, whilst the patient is still awake.

Libster Award

Jenny from Jenny Dora Explorer nominated me for the Libster Award back in May. Thank you so much for nominating me I know I am really really really slow to reply to this, but I promised myself I would, so here I am 5 months later writing my response. Whooops!
I have won the Libster award before and it is a really good way of discovering new blogs.

I'm changing my blog name!

I am changing my blog name and moving it from Lorilee's London to Lorilee's adventures as I feel like I backed my self into a niche, by calling my blog Lorilee's London.I assumed that my readers came to my blog to read all about London and I was afraid they would be disappointed as I didn't write that much about London.

Do I buy the Canon S120?

For a while now I have been thinking about buying the Canon S120

Viva Espania!

I went on holiday with my Dad in August to Malaga, Spain. We took the plane from Manchester airport. The skies were clear for the flight so no turbulence. YAY!

Trip to Brighton with my Brother

A few weeks ago my brother came to visit me in London as we were going for tea and cakes at Lady Dinah's - There will be a separate post on this shortly. He arrived on the Sunday and Lady Dinah's wasn't till Tuesday so I took him to Brighton for the day as he had never been and I think he liked it.

Canada Day!!

I planned my trip to Montreal when there were events happening like Fête de la Saint-Jean-Baptiste and Canada day. I didn't get to see anything on Fête de la Saint-Jean-Baptiste as it rained and rained and rained.

However, the sun came out on Canada day and so did the crowds. We headed up to st Catherine and found a suitable spot to take pictures. I stood next to a very patriotic Canadian lady who seemed to be holding the largest Canadian flag I have ever seen. She swung it back and forth for the duration of the parade and I am pretty sure it went on for a good 2 hours.

I got Engaged!!! In Montreal

As I said on my previous post on part 2 of my Summer in Montreal - Day 7 had extra bits. Here is why - I got engaged! After 10 years. I haven't put any photos up of the ring, because frankly I can't make my mind up and don't know what kind of ring I want. I keep looking at other ladies rings and thinking that's nice or that's nice, but I haven't found one that has wowed me yet.

Where Tam Tam's was a few days after this was taken.

Where I have been this summer! Part Deux!

Hopefully you will have already read part 1 of this post here. If not then head there before reading on.

Continuing with the days...

Day 6

I went exploring and the area around where my boyfriend works and scenery is beautiful and French.

Where I have been this summer! Part 1

Inspired by seeing Emshelx posts on her recent (I mean happening now) trip to Montreal. I dug out my photo album/hard drive decided to write a post on my SUMMER trip to Montreal, I went in June for 2 weeks.

First of all let me say summer in Montreal is much nicer than winter, but I guess that goes without saying. I visited Montreal for the first time in February - post found here. There is plenty of snow and you have to wrap up warm.

SPRING SPRING SPRING!

I am so excited to say spring is on the way, well it was when I started to write this post but now spring is in full bloom and we are heading towards summer, yay!

Winter is my least favourite season as it's dark, wet, miserable and cold. The only great point about winter is my birthday and Christmas other than that I want to get away from it as fast as possible.

Bath and Body Works Wish List

On Sunday I sat down in front of my laptop and found myself on the Bath and Body Works website. Seen as I was there I decided to share with you my wish list/shopping basket. Last time I went to Canada I bought quite a bit and I love my glitter body spray.

First up the famous hand santizers - I bought some of these when I was in Canada, but I did not get the full set. I love the scents of these.

Thinking about changing my blog name

I have thought about and toyed with the idea of changing my blog name for quite some time now and I am still undecided whether to change it or not. The reason why I want to change my name is due to my blog not really featuring as many London things as I had hoped when I started my blog.

What happened to my blogging?

I set myself a challenge to blog everyday in 2014. If your a reader of my blog you'll know I was doing really well at this for January and February, but I had to revise in March for an exam in work so my blog to a bit of a back seat and I lost my blogging flow. I am trying to get back into the swing of things with a few posts a week, but it am not sure what is best. To post every day or only post when I feel like it, which could result in lots of blog posts and then none. I need to find my happy balance of blog posts.

Day out in Greenwich

On the last bank holiday Monday we took a trip to Greenwich Park and Market. The sun was out and Greenwich was packed.

Visit back to Wales

I came back to Wales for the weekend to visit my parents and spent a bit of my time in the garden and hanging out with as many cats as I could find.

I applied some dried flowers to my nails and unfortunately after a day of wearing them some of them have fallen off, but I think that was due to me not applying a topcoat. The ones in the picture have a topcoat on them and they are still attached.

Dried flowers for my nails

My boyfriend bought me some dried flowers for my nails as he knows I love anything nail related. I have never seen these before and was really excited to try them out. I know he bought them for me from the Internet and I cannot remember which website they came from. They came in this secure carrying case.
