Day 30 of 30 day snap

This is the very last day of 30 day snap, sad face.

Today I went out shopping with my dad and picked up a few bits. Firstly, I went to Maplin to get a lens cleaning pen for my camera. Only £4.99 for this, it comes with a small brush and carbon pads which have replacements in the box.

I also picked up my favourite nail polish remover and then thought I would buy some nail polish remover pads to go in my handbag for those just in case days.

Day 29 of 30 day snap

This morning London was gearing up for Gay Pride Parade. It was great to see the streets pedestrianised and everyone had come out. I didn't know it was Gay Pride until about 3pm this afternoon, when I stepped out on the terrace at work and looked out onto Old Compton Street and saw this sea of party people. Soho was packed full and I left work through the back door because of the street below. The sun shone all day and I was locked up in work. I also missed the London Bloggers Party today something I would have loved to have visited and met some other London bloggers.

Day 27 of 30 day snap

Day 27 of 30 day snap a few weeks ago I bought a necklace from Primark, which didn't have enough L's to spell my name. Rebecca brought her jewellery tools to fix them for me. Now I can spell my name  on my necklace. Yay!  I was vey impressed with the work she did.

Primark purchase

As I mentioned in my OOTD post I had walked up and down Oxford Street in search of a suit with my boyfriend. Whilst he was in search I was looking around the dresses in Primark and found this little number.  I am unsure about it as its not very loose fitting around the arms/shoulders as it feels quite tight if I left my hands up, let alone above my head. I wanted to wear it for my friends wedding I will be attending in Poland soon.

A Beautiful Mess

A few weeks back I discovered the app A Beautiful Mess. I regularly check Instagram throughout my day and upload a few pictures whilst I am there. I noticed that some of the people I follow had fancy designs on their images and phrases. I had also noticed this on images on people had uploaded to their blog. I took the plunge and asked an Instagramer - that I follow, I cannot remember which one, -where they got the design from and this is when I discovered A Beauitful Mess. It cost me 69p from the iTunes Store, but it was worth it as it enhances your pictures and gives it a cool look.

When you first open the app you can choose to upload your own picture or use a background on the app, which ever one you choose you can add your own designs to it.

I thought I would write a blog post on A Beautiful Mess as they provided an update today that came with 30 more free designs which included new fonts, new doodles and phrases. When I updated my app I was pleased to see the upgrade and immediately started playing with it. I am really impressed with this app with the cool designs and phrases. They only downside about this app is that it only has 6 filters, I just wish they had more.

Anyway, let me explain the app - you choose your image, add a filter if you want, a design, phrase or some text.

Day 26 of 30 day snap

I have finally found some fruit to eat as I don't really eat that heathily I figured I should start trying to eat my 5 a day, so far I've had 2 today. Which is a start but it's not quite 5 yet.
I have just made it in time, getting this post up before tomorrow. I've been so good at updating this for the past 25 days and don't want to break the chain.

My favourite bloggers have written books

In my second year of university I took a module called Designing for the Internet or something like that. The end result of the 12 weeks of work was a working website of your choice. We had to build our own website from creating the design in Photoshop and editing the HTML in Dreameaver. This was a mammoth task as I had not used either programme before and it was quite daunting and a pain in the bum to say the least. Luckily we now have blogger and don't have to faff around with all of that.

However, I managed to create a blog where I shared my thoughts on fashion and wrote book reviews. It had a peach background with animated flower banners either side of the page. I cannot remember what I called this blog, but it was my first experience of designing a blog and writing on it. Whilst doing my research for other blogs out there I discovered 2 amazing blogs, which were amazing to read.

One was by a lady called Catherine Sanderson - who went by the blogger name of Petite Anglaise. Her blog can be found here. Although she doesn't write on it anymore. An English girl who moved to France who fell in love with the country and Mr Frog. She gave each person on her blog pseudonyms. Mr Frog - her boyfriend and Tadpole her baby daughter. I don't want to say too much because it will ruin it for you. When I say it I mean her blog and the book. I see her book as an extension of her blog but she does talk about the blog as that's the reason for the book.

Day 25 of 30 day snap

We are now in our last week of this and I'll be sad to see it go. It has been a fun feature and my blog has had a new picture added to it everyday. It has not been a challenge to participate in the 30 day snap as something is always going on in London and my life for there not to warrant a snap everyday. I didn't take this snap till I left work and walked past Trafalgar Square. There was a film crew and I thought why not have this as my 30 day snap photo as I hadn't really done much today. The film crew were there filming for a documentary on space. Maybe we will see it on our TV screens soon. Whilst snapping away on my phone the security around the area where they were filming were insisting flashes were not used whilst taking pictures.  No one used a flash whilst I was there for all of 20 seconds, I'm not too sure what would happen to the people who did use their flash, I wasn't prepared to find out what would happen either.

Guest blogging for other bloggers

Last week I was trawling through twitter and discovered that some bloggers ask for guest posts for when they are on holiday or for other reasons. It seems that guest posting is popular and everyone wants to do it including me. I saw that on twitter they asked if anyone wanted to do a guest post, as I am new to this I tweeted back and exchanged a few emails and hey presto I am writing guest posts for other beauty bloggers.

Day 24 of 30 day snap

Not much has happened today I took the train to work and saw that everyone opposite me was doing something on their phone. I thought this was interesting and although it doesn't really represent my day other than the 10 minutes I spent on the train. I was amused by this because it seems to be what people do these days. No one talks they just email and send a few texts. The two girls to the right knew each other and spoke intermittently between playing on their phones.

Rekorderlig Midsummer House

A few days ago I was invited to the Rekorderlig Midsummer House event held in Victoria Park, Bethnal Green. The event runs from 21st June - 5th July and tickets cost £10 and can be bought from here. The invite email I received was to initially invite me to the Rekorderlig and Company event that was being held on the 3rd July for Bloggers, but as I am not in London on that day I asked if I could attend another date (23rd June) and was placed on the guest list.

I attended the event with my boyfriend as I didn't want to go alone and we had a fabulous time.

The walk through Victoria Park was lovely and there was a mix of children playing, roller skaters doing tricks, dog walkers, Sunday afternoon runners and cyclists all intertwined.

Topshop Nail art paint brushes

Nail art has all of a sudden boombed into our lives. I have seen more and more pictures of cool nail designs people are posting on their blog/instagram and more products for this appearing on the highstreet and internet. There is an abundance of nail art equipment. It is not just the nail art equipment that is in abundance nail polish textures have also changed over the years. It used to be glossy nails all the way, but now you can get yourself matte, gloss, hi shine, caviar, glitter, cracking, textured and the list goes on. I have yet to buy any nail polish which isn't gloss as I like my nails to be shiney. Are they worth the investment or do you just revert back to your glossy nail polishes?

I am concerned about the caviar nail polish making pulls on my clothes, which is why I have not purchased any.

Nail polish and nail art are big business people.

Topshop have a nail bar, called WAH Nails, in their Oxford Street Branch. I have been in Topshop twice this week but didn't venture down to see where the WAH Nails were located. People no longer seem to be bothered by the good old French manicure and want more intricate designs, where their friends will be truly impressed. Prices for WAH nails range from £12.50 to £52. WAH nails also have a store in Shoreditch.

But the point of this post was to tell you about the set of 8 nail art brushes I bought from Topshop for £7.

Day 22 of 30 Day Snap

We went out for a walk today and saw this lovely ginger cat sat on the corner of the street, chillin. I approached it slowly as most cats in London run away when people come near them, but to my delight this little moggy stood up and came and said hello. It did a few laps of me first and then just hopped up on my knee and started to get comfortable. I love cats so I was pretty happy with this and made Kit snap this lovely event. When I get a cat I hope it will be as friendly as this one.

Day 20 of 30 day snap

Only 10 days left of 30 day snap. I have really enjoyed this series and may even continue it on to July, but instead of posting a daily photo I may do what Lily Pebbles does and do it weekily or maybe one large post at the end of the month. I'll decide at some point.

Anyway, to get on with today, last night I saw a post on Twitter for guest posting, I offered to write a guest post for Sweet Dreams Beauty on nail art/nail stamps and nail brushes. I have just completed the nail stamps section and this is my desk during.

Anyway, my favourite pen is a Foundtain Parker Pen that writes delightfully and I like my handwriting with it. I think my handwriting with a biro is a bit messy.

I have been doing this now for nearly 3 weeks and have enjoyed every minute of it. I thought that I would struggle to choose a photo to represent my day, but it has been relatively easy and fun to participate.

Today I was rather exciting as my Approved Food order arrived. I only ordered this on Saturday and it came relatively quickly. Approved Food is a website where they sell food that can no longer be sold at a supermarket because it has gone past its best before date, but not the used by date, so it is perfectly safe to eat.

What we ordered was mostly junk, but I really love Aloe Vera drink so we bough 2 cases of it, which was 24 bottles per case.

18th Day of 30 day snap

Today I took a parcel for a neighbour at 11am, but in my sleepy state I took the parcel and crawled back into bed. Only to hear the door knock again, 30 minutes later, and the neighbour collect her parcel. I did not take a snap of this, as I was too sleepy, but it would have been my 30 day snap shot.

When I did finally wake up I spent it reading Bloglovin as I am on nights and I don't feel that great but I have enjoyed reading my favourite blogs and finding new ones.

A bit of a let down

Today I had planned to go for a bike ride on my beautiful bike. A few years ago I picked this up off freecycle when I moved to London. Freecycle is a free service that encourages people to post offer and wanted posts on items they do not want to go to land fill if someone else wants them. You just have to arrange collection and no money is allowed to exchange hands. Freecycle is not limited to the UK it is across the globe. Just search for your local group on their website. Freecycle is a great way of recycling unloved items and saves you money along the way. Who knows what you might find.

As I walked past the tourists queuing for their cheap musical theatre tickets. I was greeted by a long line of people queuing for the film premier happening later on in the day. When I say later on in the day I mean it starts around 5pm and goes on for about 3 hours. I happened to see the Sex in the City premier on my way home from work, a few years ago. I worked out that I was the Superman premier because most of the people in the line had Superman T-shirts on.

A Day out in Regents Park

As it is the weekend I don't usually surface from my slumber till about 11:30am, only on a rare occasion when I am feeling in the carboot sale mood will I wake before then. Today was a relaxing day with no rush, so we didn't leave the house till 3pm.

Once eventually leaving the house and walking to the train station we were met with a rail replacement service. This is every Londoners worst nightmare as rail replacement services are never on time, cramped and take forever.

A few months back I discovered Bloglovin on my friends blog, but I didn't invest in it until about 3 weeks ago and it is great!

Follow on Bloglovin

I am absolutely in love. I have signed up to all my favourite bloggers and read all their new blog posts on the train on the way to and from work. Although I read the posts within the Bloglovin feed and you don't see each individuals blog design, it is clean and clear to read. You also get to like the posts and mark them as read - once you have read them.

Go have a look at Bloglovin and see which new blogs you can find as well as following your favourite. Also whilst you are there please don't forget to follow my blog at Bloglovin

Bloglovin also shows the popular posts on their home page, so if you miss a great blogger you can bump into them on there.

Who do you follow on Bloglovin and who should I follow?
