Are you ready for Halloween

I love pumpkin carving and buying a pumpkin this year was on my to do list. I managed to pick up a really small pumpkin from Lidl for £1 or £2. I can't remember. My lovely little pumpkin has sat in my house all week until yesterday evening when I thought I should get a move on with carving my pumpkin because by the time I get round to carving it, Halloween will be over or the pumpkin would have rotted

Anyway, let's get on with my design.  I learnt last year that when carving a pumpkin it is best practice to choose a design and draw this onto the pumpkin first. This is for not so arty/creative people like me to get the most out of their pumpkin design. I looked through lots of designs on Sunday and went with this cat one, which I found on Google images.

Nail Wraps Update

Last week I posted about nail wraps I had picked up from Poundland and applied them on Sunday 13th October and only one fell off, but this was easily fixed by a bit of clear nail varnish and it has stayed on for as long as the others have.

Weekend trip to Greenwich

This weekend we didn't go far at all as my boyfriends parents came down to visit. They stayed in their usual hotel in Blackheath and came to visit us. They came in the car so everything was easily reached. They picked us up and took us out for an amazing Indian, unfortunately I can't remember the name of it but it is right next to the Costa on Blackheath high street.

Our food was amazing, you'll see what I mean below.

A sense of success

WHOO the other day my blog reached 10100 page views. I am amazed that people read it as I read other people's blogs and they are far more interesting than mine, but I really enjoy taking photographs and writing.

Also on the same day I reached 100 followers on Bloglovin, another achievement.

Beauty advent calendars

At Christmas last year my dad bought my iPad for me and I properly started using it in January and haven't put it down since! I take it everywhere with me. In January I properly discovered blogs and blogging. I knew they had been around for a while, but my first discovery was in 2005 at university, with two of my favourite blogs - Petite Anglaise and Save Karyn - which sadly are no longer written, but the content is all there and just as exciting to read. Whilst exploring all the beauty blogs I stumbled across, I can't remember how exactly, I saw the ciate nail polish advent calendar on I Covett Thee. At the time of seeing this I wanted it immediately, but they had all sold out, being after Christmas and all.

Gone are the days where the awful chocolate advent calendars were a must have and beauty advent calendars have replaced them. I bought a chocolate advent calendar for 1p from Sainsbury's one year. Then another year my mum bought a stocking advent calendar and put a new gift in it each day to christmas. I wonder if she still has it?

Sunglasses

The other week I thought it would be a good idea to fling my sunglasses into my small handbag without a case. Doing this was far from a good idea and I have destroyed my favourite pair of sunglasses. When they were siting in my handbag without a case they got scratched by my house keys I imagine. I wish I had put them in a smaller case now as my big case is the same size as my small handbag.

I bought them last year or the year before from H & M for £7.99. I thought this was slightly expensive for sunglasses, but I liked the style and design. I am disappointed they are scratched as I can't seem to find any that match their style and size.

Beauty Haul

Recently I have been popping into Poundland looking at their beauty section. I read on twitter or on a beauty blog that they stock branded make up which are end of the line or if they are rebranding. Since finding this out, I have seen Stila, Revlon, Barry M, Maybelline, Collection 2000 and Rimmel.

On one of my many trips I picked up these Revlon nail polishes the first two I bought were 340 Stunning and 610 charismatic. I then purchased 185 Sweet Tart from Brighton Poundland.

Trip to Borough Market

Yesterday we went on a trip to London's Borough Market near London Brigde. We arrived there around 2pma me the place was packed. I wasn't expecting so many people to be there. In certain places you were shoulder to shoulder with people. I have just placed the photos below and haven't put any commentary by all them, as I simply took lots of photos. There were so many colours from the varied produce. Enjoy!

Revlon 185 Sweet Tart

Whilst in Brighton on Sunday I quickly popped into Poundland to see what they had in their beauty section. I find myself diving into Poundland beauty section and always leaving with a new nail polish. This time I picked up 185 Sweet Tart, I love the play on words with this name.

Midi Rings

I have been eyeing up midi rings for a while now and have seen quite a few people posting pictures wearing them on Instagram and featuring them on their blog. Now it's my turn. I popped into Primark last night to get my boyfriend some trousers and I ended up spending £73 something and in this haul I managed to pick up some midi rings for £1.50. I thought they were relatively cheap and I thought I would give them a whirl and I love them.

Wednesdays OOTD

I have not done an OOTD for a while now and I thought I'd share with you Wednesdays OOTD. I picked this lovely red dress up from Primark for £12. It is corduroy and is lovely. The large pocket on the front is great if you want to keep your phone in there.

Blogging help

Now everytime I discover new blogging things to improve my blog I love to share with other bloggers as I found it extremely helpful.
I have discovered how to make a blog button see my post here
How to make a new header in pic monkey
How to copy HTML code

I love sites like the one that I am about to talk about below as they allow me to input my details and create the HTML code for me or in the case of the below image they install the HTML code into my blog.

The below site LinkWithin allows you to place little links at the bottom of each post on your blog to allow your reader to dip into other posts on your blog, it essentially recommends posts for them to read before they click onto another blog. All you have to do is go to LinkWithin and type in your email and your blog link. Then select which platform your blog is on and how many stories you want displayed on your blog.

Libster Award I've been nominated.

I was very kindly nominated for the Liebster Award by the lovely Sophie from Hesterlierre, who has a lovely blog. She nominated me way back in august and this is the first time that I have finally sat down and typed this. I feel bad for it taking so long. The point of this award is to spread the word about great, lesser known blogs!

I have been lucky enough to be nominated for this award twice, see my first post here. The first time I was nominated I was going to place the logo on my side bar, but forgot. Now I have been nominated again I have placed an image of the Liebster Award.

My favourite blogs

I have had this page up for some time now. I wrote it when I first started blogging and discovering bloggers/YouTube in January this year when I finally opened my iPad I had for Christmas from my Dad. Thanks Dad xxx. I feel that although some of these blogs are my favourite blogs and I read them from time to time catching up on their posts since I last visited. I want to reevaluate my favourite blogs list and high light the blog buttons I have on my side bar.

I had toyed with the idea of making a blog button for a while and when I saw Blog Beth had made a blog button. I was straight to her twitter with questions of how did you make that and what site did you use? I attempted to make the button the same way she did but got confused and gave up. I then took to twitter again and was told about this link where you put your blog button image, your page URL and something else, then your blog button is made with no fuss and one click of a button. Thank you people who designed this.

Another weekend adventure - destination Camden Town

Sunday was filled with more photos and food. I chose to go to Camden as I knew it had lots of food stalls and a variety of food. I know that if I get Kit fed and watered he'll come along. No food and he will get grumpy. I also knew Camden was an interesting place to photograph.

Beginning the journey at Camden tube station, I don't normally take the tube but we took it there and walked back to Charing Cross from Camden at the end of the day, it took about an hour to do this, but I was stopping and taking pictures on the way back. There were trainers thrown over the telephone wires, but I am not sure what for but it did look pretty maybe it's just art. As you can see the streets were packed with tourists hopping in and out of the shops on the high street. I didn't go into any of the shops and headed straight for Camden Lock. In my head this is where I wanted to take my photos.

At trip to the Southbank at the weekend

I took a trip to the Southbank this weekend, on Saturday infact. The reason for my visit was to take as many photos as I could with my friends prime lense and below are the results. I had to get used to using the lens at first as it has no zoom and you need to step about 1 metre away from the subject you want to photograph. This is great for open spaces but not when there are crowds of people wandering past the object you want to photograph. I had to stand around for quite a bit to wait for the crowds to clear and get the shot I wanted, but as you can see in the results below it was worth it. After using this lens I am trying to work out which lens to buy.

Autumn colours and tourists, autumn is definitely on the way as the leaves have fallen off the trees and the plants are changing colours.

Lipstick tag

I have been tagged! This is the first tag I have done if you don't count the Libster award, I really need to get back to the lovely lady who nominated me. I forgot all about that a post will be up soon. Anyway, on with the task at hand lipsticks!

1. How many lipsticks do you own?
I only own about 2 lipsticks off the top of my head, but I never wear any of them. One brown one with green spots from my mums Elizabeth Duke box. I used to love wearing the pearl lip stick in this box. And I also have a brown/shimmer one from Avon. I really want a bright red one, but I'm not too sure how this will look with my pail skin.
